Default Confirmation of External DVD or Blue Ray Drive on Boxee Box?

Just so I am clear, Boxee will not be supporting external dvd or blu ray players? Is there work being done to support them? These are the only questions I need answered before I go out and buy a box.

Has there been any news about supporting USB DVD or Blue Ray players yet?

I'm planning Media systems for 3 different family members, and the only stumbling block in finding a Media-player with DVD&Blue Ray support.

It may be quite some time until the BBox supports USB optical drives and the ability to play encrypted/original DVDs/BDs

Your best option (with the BBox) for now is to have a PC/Client running on your network with a DVD/BD drive - the drive(s) will need to be shared and an App like AnyDVD will need to be running in the background to decrypt the original media/DVDs/BDs

Edit - In addition to what I posted above... if you consider what I mentioned and purchase the AnyDVD/HD app, you should consider ripping your media/content to files/containers, storing them somehow on your network (USB HDDs - NAS or a media server) in one location and access the media that way -- if the 3 family members are all in one household, only one license for AnyDVD and one network storage solution would be needed - if more than one household is involved, then each would need it's own copy/license of the software and a networked storage solution
