I'm using 0.9.22.13692 on Ubuntu 10.04. When I shutdown boxee it commonly hangs. Specifically what happens -- you exit boxee. Boxee closes like you think you would. However, it leaves a couple of processes hanging around. When you run boxee again, boxee won't start and reports that it's already running. It does not always do this -- but it does most of the time (i.e. if you just open and immediately close boxee for example -- it may not do this).

I've written a simple bash script to kill these processes manually -- but obviously there's some bug. It shouldn't have to do that. I also can't automatic the running of the script as the boxee executable never exits.

I think this problem is known at least to some as I've seen a couple of previous posts about it -- but no solutions -- or suggestions that this issue is being worked on. The other posts seem to be 4-6 months old by now also.

I would emphasize that this is a serious usability issue.

So any suggestions, or ideas? Do I need to enter this into a bug tracker some where?

Take care,
Rob
