Default Mark as "Watched" when finished watching

I was surprised to see this wasn't the default behavior... do we really expect the user to manually set everything as watched after watching something?

    Ideas...

    1) Automatically mark as watched after watching 10% or 90% of the file. The user can always go and change it manually later

    2) In the "you just watched" dialog, have an option to say "Mark as watched" (or "Mark as unwatched" if #1 was implemented above)

Hmmm... can you describe in more detail when and where the first case isn't already happening for you? It works for me for TV episodes, both local and online...

This happened to me too, where I get to the credits but not the actual end of the movie, and it's not marked as "watched". It would be great if we could set somewhere the % you have to have seen of the movie for it to count it as being watched.

Unless Boxee could scrape information as to when exactly the credits start, then it really can't do anything about that other than a round-about guess which I don't think too many people would be pleased with. Some movies have long credits, some movies have scenes after the credits, some websites have long load times and cause Boxee's timer to get misaligned with the actual movie/show time.

Still, if the "total time watched" could be set at something like 80% for an item to be counted as watched, wouldn't that catch most instances?

    1) I watched a TV episode - the credits came around and I
    2) went back (to the list of seasons/episodes) to see if boxee already considered it watched. It didn't.
    3) So I went back to now playing (ie. the episode, with the credits rolling on) and skipped forward.
    4) The "you've just finished watching..." dialog showed up and then I looked at the list of seasons/episodes again and it still didn't consider it watched.
    5) I had to manually set it as watched.

Is this not expected behavior? If not, what's supposed to happen? It should be watched at step 4) and 5)?

Noone is asking for "credits detection". But assuming that it *does* mark it as watched when you've watched 100% (this thread is re: that not happening for me), then here's my vote for either different behavior, or a setting to make everyone happy.

Once I've watched anywhere from 1-50% of the content, then I consider it watched. For example, if I stop a bad movie, then go on and watch other content, I consider that bad movie as watched. If I skip out right when a long reel of credits start, then I consider it watched.

Since this is really a different request than this thread (which may be a bug or user error, per darcilicious), I'll start a different thread: http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.ph...724#post112724

If I watch anything for a couple of minute and quit it, it's marked as watched. The font is dimmer and if I check the details, the option to "mark unwatched" is available.

Could folks provide more details: which OS, which Boxee version (full version number please), which show and episode, and if it's local or online source.

    Oh, that's what I want.

I'm running Windows 7 x86, Boxee Beta 0.9.22.13692, with a local, 56 minute long TV episode.
