Problem with UPNP shares

Hello everyone,

I recently got a plug computer running Debian as my server, and decided to use that to run Mediatomb and to migrate my media collection to it. Everything seems to be fine - VLC and even the Boxee file browser can access the UPNP share. The only thing that does not work is to include the stuff into my media.

The Mediatomb Shares come up under the "Add Sources" search, but when I look at my media shares under the Boxee Settings, all of them say "Disconnected" - even while I'm using Boxees file browser to play an MP3 over them at the same time...

Is there anything I can do about this?

If you search this Linux section on UPnP I think you'll find that no one has gotten it to work as local media sources. I think bugs have been filed about it at http://jira.boxee.tv

I believe the work around is to get SMB installed and use that.

Thanks - I found some older entries saying that, but as all of those entries were older I was hoping that that the problem has been solved and I'm encountering a different, easier to solve problem...

Guess I'll have to use samba then and hope for a fix at some point.

According to this bug report: http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE-4297 it should be fixed with the newest version. I installed it and still have the same problem. Have filed a new bug - maybe it only affects Linux.
