ATV 2.3 auto-update nukes boxee/xbmc!!!
Apple has screwed us ATV users. My ATV did an auto update, and when it relaunched, Boxee and XBMC were gone. How do I reinstall and disable auto updates?

AppleTV OS updates will always nuke all non-native plugins and any custom changes.

i repatched and rebooted. When I select XBMC or Boxee in the ATV main menu, nothing happens; the screen goes dark. When i select "Update" under either XBMC or Boxee submenu, the Launcher v.6 is shown as an available download, but ATV won't let me download it. So, repatching does not not work. Back to the boring old ATV functionality for now.

Your ATV might automatically update, as it did for me! i did not chose to update my ATV software; it did it itself. Supposedly there is a way to disable auto updates, which I recommend to avoid my situation.

I've turned off auto updates, hopefully this update isn't important, just adding some new crap.
