Default boxee + Ubuntu 8.04 + USB Stick.

I've now setup Ubuntu 8.04 on a USB stick & installed boxee.

Runs like a dog (very slow), but that could just be the graphics drivers.

And people say I have too much free time!

So are they any speed tips? other than to install it on a proper machine not a usb stick.

Turn off vsync. You can do that via the menus, or just edit the guisettings.xml file (set it to zero).

While we're on the subject, can anyone tell me *why* there is this problematic setting? Why is it better to have it at "2" rather than "0"? Should boxee default to 0 so it runs right and then the user can tweak it up?
