Apple TV newbie here. I have been googling for hours both last night and this morning trying to find a way to enable AFP and/or NFS share mounts on the Apple TV.
My understanding is that Boxee only implements SMB shares at this time. My issue with the SMB shares is that my HDHomerun SageTV recordings on my NAS as about 8GB per 30 minutes. SMB is having a hard time keeping up with this streaming rate even over my gigabit wired LAN.
I would like to either be able to access NFS or AFP shares via Boxee or mount them during Apple TV start up and have Boxee reference the mounted directory (ie /mnt/nas).
Has anyone had success with this yet on Apple TV Take 2?
It looks like I may need to do some heavy lifting to get NitoTV installed which gives AFP support to Apple TV (hopefully it's system wide support).
Thanks for the input.
