Default Porting XBMC py script to Boxee

So I'm trying to port a script/plugin I have working in XBMC over to Boxee. I've gotten it set up and am running down the problems as I go.

So what the app does is idle in the background, watching for a tv show or movie to play, then fires off an action.

I got the app config stuff changed and got it to initialize the settings and what not. Well, the first problem is that in Boxee, it's expecting the app to return something, whereas in XBMC, it allowed it to idle in a loop with a sleep(30) call.

Can anyone point me towards an example of something like this already implemented or even tell me if this is possible in Boxee?

    Thanks for any help.

Any ideas if a plugin like this is possible? If not a background task, does boxee support the alarm services like xbmc does? Basically, run this script every xx minutes.
