New Movies section under "Show Me"

As I said, I'm running a self-maintained debian-based install. The deb file won't work for me - mainly due to it's dependencies on a newer glibc than I have.

I believe the issue is linked to my account - not the installation. I've managed to get around the problem, so it's not a big deal. I've traced it through the code and it has nothing to do with outside dependencies or missing files.

Besides, doesn't anyone compile their own software anymore?

Yes. The skin file browse_browse_movies.xml, change boxee.showmovielibrary to "true" for the "visibility" property of group 403 (label 54012 is right above it which translates to "SHOW ME").

Oh, sorry... I didn't realize that was your actual work around, I just thought it was an observation. I can't help you with why that would be happening other than to tell you that both my windows and linux setups show that line of code as <visible>boxee.showmovielibrary</visible> and I am not having the problem you are seeing. I should have mentioned that earlier.

As far as you thinking that it is your account, why don't you just create a new account and see if it is still happening?
