I've read that boxee can handle cbz files- but boxee doesn't seem to be able to open the comics I put in the picture dir
Is there a comic app for boxee that can view these files?

Well, you didn't read it in the list of supported files so there isn't any native support. There used to be a Comic App but I don't think it was ever updated to work with Boxee beta...

I've seen it on other places on the general google search for boxee+cbz
I only have 10 or so comic files. Is there any way to put a feature request for that? I could just change the extension for the cbz files to zip and unzip them I guess.
Although its probably not practical to read comics on your tv, there's nothing special about the cbz files since they're just zips with pictures.
Also xbmc and plex support it:

Still looks pretty cool to have the option. So is this available on Boxee or no?
Nah its apparently not available but the other fork of xbmc and xbmc itself has it.
The only option would be to extract the pictures from the cbz files and put them in folders I guess.
http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=10737 Is just for the comics.com site. Otherwise I'm very impressed with boxee. Using the renamer software, boxee is able to recognize all my media, and the integrated tv show library from online content is amazing. That and netflix integration is one of the reasons I switched over.
My only complaint is I can't change thumbs without a separate software- but that's apparently going to be added as a feature in later release. I also though boxee was broken originally with its integration of FOD & Hulu but it turned out it was because I had windows set to 150% to make things easier to see @1920 but it seems that boxee's firefox browser was zoomed as well which made me think that their integration was broken.
Anyway I'd like to request the cbz & cbr function though as I only keep a few comics related to movies like Kick-Ass and Wanted just for reference*
