Spotify integration/app

Hi all. I recently bought a new 40" Sony Bravia and have been using Boxee on that through my MacbookPro. I'm loving the service, especially for accessing the music stored on my Mac and the Last.fm app. The icing on the cake would be a bigscreen version of Spotify on Boxee though. It's impossible to use the desktop app from 10 ft away so you are constantly up and down from the sofa.

I was listening to music last night with my partner and the Boxee version of Last.fm made it a very social experience. That's hard when you can't browse quickly from the sofa so yes please to bigscreen Spotify! I'm not yet a premium user of Spotify but if this was launched I would definitely pay for it.

Hi i got the Boxee box ordered. and looking forward to not have a PC in my living rom, the boxee box does almost all i need, but as a spotify premium user, i would like to see this feature, there have been made som attempts on the XBMC and MCE to get this to work, but no more support for these apps.

I do believe many people would like a spotify integrated to Boxee and XBMC on their HD TV`s today spotify is too small text to really work on a 1080p TV screen. i think Spotify and boxee would get a great boost in those countries spotify is a available, and people would buy the boxee box instead of other competitiors. Boxee is a great software already, but this would make it shine!

This is actually my most wanted app for Boxee - Since I can't use Pandora (Living in Norway) on my system. I already use Spotify almost everyday on my pc, and I am premium user, really miss this app to get my boxee system complete

Hope this will be integrated in the future.

Top feature request for me as well! I'm already a premium subsriber and Boxee + Spotify is really a match made in heaven. Pleease make it work!

I ended up paying the premium sub for Spotify anyway so I can use on my iPhone .

I'm slightly concerned about the potential Spotify sale to Apple. I'm a big fan of many Apple products but have issues with their closed approach on devices. I can put up with it on the iPhone as it currently does everything I need it to do. However, network media access is going to explode over the next year or two and will need to be flexible in order to accommodate new providers (whether it's social networking tools, movies, music etc.). I don't see Apple's current approach supporting access to new tools and content very quickly, which is a must for me.

I want a box that not only has a great interface, but is updated constantly to support new services that are coming through. If Apple buys Spotify it's unlikely to come to Boxee and will end up on Apple TV instead, that's even if it survives in its current form.

Spotify representative Jim Butcher said that is company has "...absolutely no intention" of selling to Apple or anyone for that matter.

And thank goodness! I agree Boxee have done a great job so far, so would definitely want them to retain full control over the interface.

Yes I saw that, but I'm not sure I completely believe it. I'm probably just being cynical though .

i can't see how spotify and apple could work in harmony? If spotify sell, apple may well cripple the service to stop the trend towards streaming music rather than (lucrative) sales of tracks via itunes.
