I think for best help with the Navi-X app in Boxee you'll need to sign up and post over in the Navi-X forums: http://navix.turner3d.net/forums/ Since Navi-X is a 3rd party application, there's not direct support for it by the Boxee team and support is probably best found over in their forum.

so how does on get a menu option through the remote control to be able to download a file thanks appreciate the help
Boxee doesn't have a "download" content function and it's unlikely that it ever will.

I think it's fairly safe to say that the Boxee Team doesn't support the ability to acquire "illegal" content. The intention would be to play your own purchased content or freely-available "legal" streamed content.

Marcel or anyone Team Boxee can confirm. Other Mods could even chime in. I believe the above is implied though, all throughout these Forums.

Burchill, the answer is fairly simple...

Boxee does not have a download option and Navi-X 1.0 for Boxee does not contain a download option. It is unlikely that a download option will ever be added to Navi-X for Boxee, but it is technically possible.

No one at any time here in these forums has any intention of ever endorsing the downloading of illegal content. Claiming what is legal or not is a different discussion as I assume the legal authorities are making that determination by taking sites down with illegal content... I certainly have no intentions on claiming what is illegal or not... this is the duty of law enforcement, not I.

Will a download option ever get added? Maybe... but it is highly unlikely to happen without someone currently working on an update to the Navi-X plugin. There are so many features offered in the XBMC version that will likely never make it over to Boxee because of differences in the two interfaces that cannot be reconciled (ex: secondary menu in XBMC, support for rendering certain windows, etc.). I hope this explains your perdiciment better. By the way, you would be best to reach out to us at http://navix.turner3d.net/forums next time for a faster reponse to questions about Navi-X.

If you 'love' a video viewed in the Navi-X plug though it will show up on your recent views on the boxee.tv homepage. If you click on the link it will download it from the source website.

*note* some websites no longer work with this.

*Mods if we arnt allowed to discuss this please remove this post.
