This issue is also happening to me on a Mac. Just two days ago everything worked perfectly, and now the access to my shared folders returns the message "Failed to retrieve data". Even when I try to add those folders as sources again it fails "Operation timed out". Have you found a fix for Mac too?

    Thanks!
Just to clarify, which issue is happening? Shares disappearing after 15-20 minutes?

    Thanks

Nope: they do appear, but I cannot access content...

that is likely a different issue. what happens when you try to access content? what kind of dialog do you get?

also, can you capture a debug log and provide that so we can see what is failing?

When I try to access my shared folders directly I get this errors:

(How can I capture a debug log?)

Strangely enough, if I mount those shared folders in Finder and then add those folders in Boxee through "Devices" I can successfully access content without any problem...

    Set up debug logging.

Hi, your logs say you are running: 0.9.21.11497

Can you update to the latest public build? http://www.boxee.tv/download/macosx

The issue you are having is separate - we see the share and try to access it, but we time out in the process. Let's start with the current public build, and see if that fixes things; if not we'll go from there.

Okay, I installed the new public build (shouldn't boxee update automagically?) and then I tried the same thing as before. Same error...

Can you access that share from your OS outside of boxee? Username/password on the share?

Yes, I do! If I mount those shared folders thru Finder and then add them to boxee thru "Devices" they work properly...

And yes, I do have a username/password on the SMB share.
