Is the "USB Image Tool" a seperate program that we need to download?

Any chance anyone might want to put together a video for those of us who are newbies to this??? It would be greatly appreciated!!!
The batch file will download "USB Image Tool" automatically. It does not need to be installed or manually downloaded.

Yes, it's pretty simple, just two steps a) run the batch file, b) copy the disk image to your USB flash drive with "USB Image Tool".

When I ran the batch file I got an error saying that wget was missing this file: msvcr71.dll. Googled it and managed to download it and drop it in the wget folder. So far, it is downloading the file wget points to for the patchstick creation. This happen to anyone else? Or any ideas why this happened? Just curious.

edit: I got as far as using restore on USB Image Tool and it seems to quit halfway through.

What version Windows OS including service packs? I left out msvcr71.dll by mistake but want to know why it was missing on your computer.

Go ahead an try to boot the AppleTV with your flash drive, others have reported a similar thing with "USB Image Tool" and it created a good flash drive.

Windows XP with SP3 and all the latest updates. I re-downloaded everything and ran it again to make sure something didnt go a wry. I do have the dll on my computer in other folders, but it wasnt present in the wget folder. Turns out its a common dll.

One thing I noticed, the USB Image Tool obviously reads the flash drive as FAT format. I thought the patchstick needed to be formatted in HFS+? After running the Image Tool, I clicked on the drive and it appeared to be empty.

Default Post ATV Brick/Restore to 2.3...

I recently bricked my atv prior to apple's release of 2.3 yesterday and mistakenly updated to 2.3 after the factory reinstall. I'm a Window's user and was wondering what the ETA in receiving an update to the patchstick for Windows will be. I'm eagerly waiting as Boxee sure has a great thing going for us!

Thank you for any input/response to my post.

The flash drive format does not matter before copying the disk image to it. This process will completely blows away any previous formatting and replace it with the disk format of the disk image.

Actually it should prompt you to format it. That's because Windows does not understand GPT disk format and thinks the disk needs formating, don't format or everything installed will go away.

Default I am Missing Something Here!

    Guys,

1 - Which files do I need to put on my Windows PC?

If that is the case, what do I do once they are on my PC, which do I execute. If not

2 - What files go on my USB stick

Maybe I am missing something. I though that if you loaded this software on your PC, a program would run that gives you the choices of how to load up the USB stick.

What do I do with these files I load into my PC, they are just that, doesn't seem to be anything that is a .exe to start some program. You can see I am a real rookie at this!

I think by the comments you are assuming things that I already know, but this is not so, please help!
