Wow. Finally, thanks for sharing this blog. Anyway I have the same problem with the menu tab because it disappears.

Yes. I have tried to fix this but failed. The mouse is stealing back focus immediately
when clicking the tab so the menu appears and then disappears just as quickly.

The tab should not disappear though when moving outside of the main list as it did in the previous version. It should stay and give a notification that mouse navigation is not fully supported when clicked.

I don't think you have tried the latest version.

Just hit another Twixiee bug tonight. Wasn't loading the Twitter Trends on the Right Hand side of the screen. App shows a URL Open Error.

This is probably whatthetrend.com being down/unresponsive and the request timing out.
I haven't made any changes to the trending topics code in a long time and the latest version of Twixiee has been out for a few weeks.

I just started seeing this as well a few days ago.


The error message in the UI probably shouldn't expose all the info like that it's urlopen failing because that is internal python stuff.

"Error loading trending topics: Operation timed out" should be sufficient

I've found the problem with whatthetrend.com and I will submit new version of Twixiee to boxee shortly. Hopefully today

I have a problem with Twixiee (on Mac OS X). I've just started using Boxee and Twixiee is not working. All I get is the blue clouds background, "Not signed in" written at the top and the orange "loading..." squares fading continuously.

What can I do to make it work?

PS: It doesn't work on Windows XP, too.

I think everyone's having this problem right now.
An update was made on the serve side, but for some reason the package doesn't include all the needed files.
If you check the boxee log it probably says something like
"Import Error" and " No module named bitter" (bitter was the old name for the app :P)
I've reported the issue and the Boxee server team is hopefully fixing it soon.
There is not much you can do unfortunately.
