Thread: Not all Simpsons seasons showing up

Default Not all Simpsons seasons showing up

I can't seem to find a logical reason why this is happening, as all season folders for Simpsons are identical in naming convention.

    My naming convention is this:
    TV Shows/[ShowName]/Season [N]/[ShowName] - [Season&Episode] - [Title]

The following seasons DO appear: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,13,17,18
The following seasons DO NOT appear: 10,11,12,14,15,16,19,20

    Some Examples:
    TV Shows/Simpsons/Season 1/Simpsons - 101 - Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.avi
    TV Shows/Simpsons/Season 10/Simpsons - 1001 - Lard of the Dance.avi
    TV Shows/Simpsons/Season 16/Simpsons - 1606 - Midnight Rx.avi

Any ideas? If you need additional info to reproduce, let me know.

[Edit: Boxee has been up/running for 3 days on my MBP]

That naming scheme is pretty ambiguous. I bet putting something between the season/episode number would help.

    ex. 1001 -> 10x01 or S10E01

Unfortunately, the other 2-digit Simpson episodes show up. In addition to many of my other TV shows.

I agree that it is more ambiguous than your examples, but I was going for something cleaner when viewed by filename. As far as parsing something like 1001, requires some defined rules. My parser understands Seasons are never prefixed with a zero, but episodes are. So 1001 breaks down to 10 and 1. Also the assumption was that neither Season or Episode would ever extend beyond 2-digits. The way Hollywood cancels stuff, I don't think my logic will ever fail.

    Default Same here

I've the same problem with my Office seasons. Hardly anything shows up except some from season 1. Seasons 2-4 don't show up at all, but everything is in the same filename format.

I had a similar problem with Futurama rips. They were all saved .mp4, but for some reason only the first 4 files I encoded were showing up. Finally I realized that I must have lowered the encoding quality after the first 4 because file size of the ones picked up by boxee were around 150mb, and the skipped ones were less than 90. Maybe boxee has higher videophile standards than I do?

it's not that they are ambiguous... it's that they are wrong.
they need to be s##e## or ##x##.. and have to be two digits.
