I understand your frustration, but I think you should find a better way to post notices and get the word out to people so they can stop complaining. This thread is getting long and tedious to keep up-to-date with.

As someone who has nothing but personal experience in this arena, let me just say I've posted this in Boxee forums, XBMC forums, Twitter, Facebook, NaviXtreme forums... nothing will ever be enough to get the word out on Navi-X updates if people don't bother to take the time to read what I said....anywhere...everywhere.

I think getting mad at users for not knowing better or not savy enough to find this forum or thread and read through 100s of pages, isn't the right approach.

Who said you have to browse through 100 pages?!? Come here... hit Last on the page list and viola! You COULD also just use twitter.com/navi_x, add the rss bookmark to our twitter account and whenever we post notifications, you'll get it. Sometimes I think people just don't know how to use Twitter for what it's supposed to be used for.

Put a notice up on your app or something, say you don't have the resources to maintain it. Hell put link to your paypal and ask for donations to fix the problems. That way more ppl will understand, maybe even want to support you and help you get back on your feet.[/QUOTE]

Donations are still a violation of DMCA article 513 folks... for the love of God please stop asking to donate to us. I don'
t know how much clearer I can make this. We don't intend on breaking our backs or laws so everyone can use our app for 100% TV replacement. Please make sure you do some reading on our app next time before just stating things that have been discussed before... if you all read threads instead of asking me to explain our app over and over, you would have a heads up on everything that's going on with Navi-X. I know reading makes people impatient, but it's not that hard... I laid out a wiki section, we have our personal forums... there are resources out there folks... please use them.

Tdott does however make a great point I am unable to deny... "Where the hell can I find a "new users guide" for people who are just starting to use Navi-X?" It is true that there has not been a place of focus for people who are just now learning about Navi-X... this I can not deny, so kudos to tdott for making an excellent point, I'll give him that.

I will create a reference point for this so there is a face and label on where to find this information. This question has come up over and over again and it's my fault for not addressing it. I will probably even put it up on the www.navi-x.org website as a primary section, pointing to our support sources. If we just pointed people out to the one location, where all of these things can be found, and somewhat centralized and referenced, people would find the page and have this information. I think the problem is people are not finding the help sections out there BECAUSE they don't know where to begin... literally. If we just told everyone in 1 list, it would be easier to find help on.

    +3 for tdott.

    Default [Released!!!] Navi-X for Boxee!!!

im having trouble accessing navi-x. The issue came up last week and since then i have deleted the repository and added it countless times only to end with the same result: "There are no apps currently available in this repository". I've done a factory reset, all my other apps work fine. I updated the firmware.

    ---> Any Suggestions?

I'm showing on my Boxee box that FuzztheD's repository is also empty. Is this due to the issue you mentioned about the weekend? Sorry, I'm new to the game, but have tried to read as much as I can on this before posting (without actually reading all 300+ pages in the thread lol).
Thanks for all the hard work!

    UPDATE:
Nevermind...literally as soon as I posted this, I tried again and the repository opened without issue!

Yes, I would conclude the app missing from the repo is a service related issue with peak usage. I will try to work on our repository again ths weekend, when I get a chance.

This problem is fairly common and is easy to resolve when you follow instructions... but you have to follow them detail by detail or you will not fix your issue and never get apps like Navi-X to work again on your Boxee Box.

For people with this issue, I have only one suggestion at this point... you MUST do a factory restore of your Boxee Box firmware, THEN you must perform a manual update. This requires a flash drive and for you to download the very latest firmware for Boxee using a computer and NOT just trying to update to the latest firmware again through your Boxee Box update options. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Here is the very latest firmware available at this time... download it to your computer and put it in the root of your flash drive (example: X:\boxee.iso)
    http://www.boxee.tv/download/boxeebox

Here is instruction directly from Boxee on how to perform a factory reset on your Boxee Box.

Here is instruction directly from Boxee on how to manually update your Boxee firmware.
    http://support.boxee.tv/entries/3280...-factory-reset

If you had searched Google for this... you would have found it yourself.

Do this, then add the following address to your list of repositories... http://navi-x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/boxee

If I keep finding people are having troubles with the tinyurl.com short URL, I will be removing it from the project and we will no longer support it. I am sick and tired of answering questions everytime tinyurl.com is unable to re-direct users to the link on Boxee Box as I am sure you all are too.

After you perform these instructions down to the T, YOUR COPY OF NAVI-X WILL NO LONGER GIVE YOU THE SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FAILURE!!

If you come to me afterwards and say it is not working, I don't care anymore. Call me a jerk, but I would have to call you a liar for saying you followed these instructions and it still did not fix your issue. I have already verified this with a member of Team Boxee that this fix absolutely resolves the issue cause the signature hash keys blank out and your box has to retrieve the new key again in order to attempt a launch of the app instead of using a cached key in your boxee memory.

This is not rocket science folks and I know sooooo many people are hesitant to do a factory reset and manual restore, either out of laziness or arrogance or an "I don't want to do that and you can't make me." attitude... I don't have all day to support people if they do not take the time to read and attempt the solution... there is no fix to administer from our end so please stop looking for this resolution.

For those who genuinely still have issues with "signature verification failure" after truly trying the instructions above, THEN I would have to attribute your issue to a defective Boxee Box... either the memory or the unit itself, in which case you need to get back to your retailer for an exchange or get in touch with D-Link to RMA your Boxee Box. Thanks again for your understanding folks.
