Default Ubuntu 10.4 Resolution Problem via HDMI

I have a Acer revo 3610 hooked up to my 720p/1080i tv via hdmi and the screen resoultion will not allow me to pick 1366 x 768 (1080i). If i hook it via vga I can pick 1366 x 768 (1080i) any ideas how to fix this? I've mess with xorg some but I couldnt fix anything.

This is what it looks like

There is an option somewhere in Nvidia settings that says:
"Scale to higher resolution supported by display"
    or something like that.
    Check you have this on.
My HTPC was forced at 1080i, but I didn't notice it better than 720p, so I uncheck the previously said setting to force 720p. You are trying the opposite thing, so I guess you must check it.

    I checked my config.
It's in DFP-0 (Smasung) in your image posted.
    "Force Full GPU Scaling"
This bumps the resolution to the max your display supports.

I had a similar problem with a Samsung Syncmaster 2494HM: everything was fine with a VGA cable but when I used a HDMI cable the image was truncated for the resolution 1920*1080.

In fact the problem was not the X.org configuration but some options of the Samsung display: two options were enabled in the display configuration (accessible through the OSD menu of the Samsung display) and disabling them solve the problem:

    - Image size > Just scan had to be disabled
    - Image source > AV Mode had to be disabled

After that, the image was completely fine.
    I hope this will help
