I was playing back the MLB app archived games this morning and didn't notice the little white box in the corner. Boxee must be using flash for playback? Is there something with MLBNextDef that would disable hardware decoding?

You can press "i" or "y" during playback to see the info screen. It'll tell you if it's using Flash or not.

This seasons games are H.264 direct so they're not using flash for those. I'm not sure on last seasons games... haven't tried.

You're not going to get hardware accelerated decoding inside of boxee on OSX. Not sure how 10.1 Gala will run in boxee on OSX either... I doubt it's been optimized or tested.
