Thread: Porn in the featured feeds?

    Default Porn in the featured feeds?

    My 8 year old got home from school today and turned the TV + boxee on to watch cartoons... he called me in for help because boxee had lost focus, and I needed to get a mouse plugged in to click it back to the foreground (which happens frequently with the new build, but that's another issue)

    When I looked at the TV, right in the middle of the screen is "Blue Movies: The story of a Rising Porn Studio Fighting to be #1" at the top of the featured feed.

    Who is choosing these "Featured" videos, and how to I stop my boxee family account from showing my kids porn? I don't care if it's "just a documentary"... it's way out of line, especially since I have "Hide adult feeds and applications" selected.

    This was a mistake that will not happen again. Team Boxee promotes 'featured' and Blue Movies should not have been promoted.

    We alerted the team when we saw it, and it was removed almost immediately.

    Ah damn it, seriously, this again. (Not directed at you daelic, I've raised concern about this before and it keeps happening.)

    Neil, it's in the featured feed again.

    @daelic, the appropriate people have been contacted and it should be removed shortly. I'm truly sorry about this and hope it doesn't affect your Boxee experience too much in the time being.

    I setup a button on my remote to start boxee.exe.

    If Boxee is already running (but not in focus) and I press the button to trigger boxee.exe it brings it to the foreground.

    And thanks for fixing the Blue Movies "issue". I kept having to jump in front of the TV after hitting "Home"......

    Default Option to turn feeds on and off

    I think that the issue with this feeds could be resolved if Boxee implemented a way to turn them on and off on the settings. This way people that are not into the "Social" aspect of things would be happy. Like my wife...

    That is not likely, as 'featured' may be used as a source of revenue, in the future.
