sound don't work after reproduce dts or dolby sound

boxee 0.9.20.10710
ubuntu 9.10 (32bits)
motherboard: zotac ion itx-d-e
home teather: lg ht554tm (connected with optical cable)
my audioutput config:

when I started boxee all works fine, I can reproduce movies with AAC LC, avi, mp3, youtube, the system sounds, etc, but when I reproduce movies with dts or dolby it works without problems (the home theater show the dts or dolby led, all sound ok), but when I stop the movie, the system sounds gone, mp3 doesn't sound anymore, the same with all sounds, only dts or dolby works fine after that, I have to close boxee and open it again to get the sound back.

plz help, this is very very annoying

downgrading to ubuntu hardy to do some tests...

in hardy works fine, but have no support for ext4 and I have 1.5tb in that disk
in jaunty the problem is the same



ok, I tried all ubuntu versions, all boxee version, is time to shot my self :P
the weird thing is all worked fine, with no changes sound stop working and now even reinstall all the problem persist.

after install ubuntu 8.04 32bits, 9.04 32bits, 9.10 32bits, debian squeeze 32bits, debian lenny 32bits, and ubuntu 9.10 64bits, boxee in all versions and get the exactly same f***ing problem. I found the solution

too easy (the biggest troubles always as a easy solution)

1) sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio
2) sudo apt-get install esound
3) reboot
4) configure boxee to:
Audio Output: digital
dolby digital capable reciver: check (yes)
DTS capable receiver: check (yes)
Audio output device: default
Passthrought output device: default
downmix multichannel audio to stereo: uncheck (no)

that do the trick.
