So I am frustrated with a few things about the updating of Boxee.

I am subscribed to the show "Caprica" and it comes out over 24 hours sooner on Hulu Desktop then it does on Boxee. I've noticed this with other shows too like "lost" and "flashforward" a delay in showing up in Boxee compared to Hulu or ABC. Shows that are really popular right now on Hulu desktop like "Jamie Olivers Food Revolution" are not to be found when browsing general shows or genre based (reality tv) search in Boxee. I can only find it when I do a search.

Am I the only one that notices this? I searched the forums for similar problems and can't seem to find anything.

Are we to expect that shows on Hulu will take a certain amount of time (24 hours +) to show up in Boxee? What determines a show being popular according to Boxee and why do some not show up?

Marcel told us that the boxee server is 24 hrs behind. I did not get a followup with a why for the delay.

Same for the 200 shows in the TV Library. I've been adding missing hulu shows to the new Boxee RSS App in the time being.

But, you know, for every single show that is missing....and there are 10000's of 'em,.... they could never include them all. Maybe. It might have to do with a feed being too big.

Also if you can ask him what makes a show "popular" according to Boxee? If a show is popular on ABC, FOX or HULU, shouldn't it be listed in Boxee as well?

Here are the questions I asked and the answers I got on these topics:

• Why are the TV series 24 hrs behind the actual Hulu or Fox sites? Can this be fixed?

• 1. It should not be 24hrs it can be up to 12 hours as we scrape the shows at least twice a day plus there is up to 4 hours server cache

• Why does TV Library have only 200 shows listed?
  

• 2. We show the top 200 popular shows (according to Boxee users) it is a workers design. One thing we will try to improve is the filter on genres or sources e.g hulu,cbs etc.. the product team thinks that most people will try the search to find their show.

• Can the initial listing of 200 be increased?

• There are quite a few shows missing that do not come up in a search.

• 4. All TV shows should be search able if there are issues then it is a bug. If there is missing shows then tell me.

I do recall reading a post or two around here that there is a delay between Hulu and Boxee and 24 hours sounds about right. I also reading something along the lines that Boxee is only accessing what it can pick up via RSS feeds from hulu.com...

I manually get the missing show RSS feeds and put them into my own RSS app. But maybe there is something stopping boxee from getting them.

Same with the 24 hr thing.
