Consuming UDP/RTP Streams

Is Boxee capable of consuming a UDP/RTP stream over my LAN? For instance, I can point a UDP Mpeg-2 stream at my client machine and VLC (when told to) will pick up the stream and play it. Does this, or similar functionality exist in Boxee (either out-of-the-box or with customizations, such as an app)?

I would also like to know if this is possible. I tried typing an RTP URL in the search box and in the browser location field on my boxee box, but no luck. I believe XBMC is capable of receiving RTP streams, so I would expect boxee to be able to do it too!

I recall seeing a couple people talk about successfully using VLC to stream to Boxee, but I don't remember the particulars.
