Boxee crash on startup (Ubuntu 9.10, XP and Vista)

I originally installed Boxee several days ago on this machine with XP loaded, it worked fine for about a day. I then ran into a problem where my monitor went dark, so I reset the BIOS, ran diagnostics...no errors found. Tried Boxee again but would crash anywhere from between 1-5 minutes. Error report gave Faulting application boxee.exe followed by a Fault bucket error in the Event Viewer.

So I figured I'd give Vista a try, but same thing. Successfully updated the video drivers and Windows Update but that didn't help. Finally a tried my current OS (Ubuntu 9.10) but Boxee won't load at all. I get a busy mouse cursor and then nothing. Boxee log is attached.

Here are the specs on my comp:

Dell Optiplex 780
2Gb DDR3
Intel Core2Duo E8400 3Ghz
Onboard Video (Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics) [Driver: i915]
Edit: Graphics GMA X4500

Boxee version: boxee-0.9.20.10710.i486

Obviously points to graphics/hardware issue but with no errors found and I think my system is up to the task, I have no clue. Do I need a better GFX card perhaps?

I couldn't fix this issue. I was considering upgrading to another graphics card but figured I'd give XBMC another try. So far it's been working well and unfortunately for the time, I'm ditching Boxee.
