Default Boxee not updating movie or tv lists

    Hi,

I have boxee on my appleTV and I also have a NAS on my network. I've mounted my movies and tv shows folders from my NAS onto the appleTV using the settings menu from Boxee. The network drives mount ok and they are connected. I can browse each of the network locations.

The problem is that when I select the Movies (or TV Shows) menu items in Boxee I get the screen telling me that "Boxee is scannin the Movies folder on your computer. ... etc"

I've left this on for 1/2hr + but don't get my movies lists updated.

Anyone else had this problem ?

    thanks

Depending upon the size of your movie folder, it can take an hour or more to show a single movie. My ATV and windows machines don't show a single thing for the first 1.25 hrs as I have 300 movies. It can be slow at times......

Thanks for the reply, I have about the same number of movies. I'll just leave boxee running and see if it picks them up

I've got the same problem and after more than a week I can say that I'm still getting the same message
I've tried to manually scan it to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

Trust me F1reman, Patience is the word. . . Same thing happened to me, I think it took about a week but remember that I would take the laptop to work, bring it back, then connect to the source again... sometimes the computer would sleep at night, so basically you just gotta be patient.

    good luck mate

Ok, I've tried "Patience" but it doesn't work

It doesn't recognize the the movies on the ATV and not the ones on my network.
    Any ideas?

Have to already deleted the default local sources? The Indexing tool won't add anything until the default local sources are purged.

    Thanks for the tip!
    Finally it's scanning something.
    I'm getting my Tv Shows.
Waiting for the movies to show up... I'll give it some time.

    Thanks again.

Doesn't it also have something to do with the way you name the file? I've had my ATV set up for weeks and nothing has ever shown up in the TV Shows folder. I can only get to my shows via the File tab. I read a post that the episodes must be named a certain way, like "title.title.s##.e##". So I renamed everything (ie. friday.night.lights.s04.e01) and still have nothing.

I just deleted all sources but my network one that I have mapped for TV shows. Hope it works finally.

    I'm having the same problem,

I can manually find the movie and play it by going through the file explorer. But when i go to movies it doesn't appear. It's been 2 weeks but for some reason the movies don't appear. i have labelled them Harry_brown_2009

    but still no luck
