Default Boxee Beta not playing Audio Correctly w/ MP4 AAC encode

So I had boxee alpha setup on a htpc i built.

digital audio goes to receiver from the htpc, which sends out to my 5.1 setup.
video goes to the display via hdmi.

So here's the problem... after beta installation...

My mp4 files with aac (6ch) audio do not play correctly. It's as if it does not send audio to my center channel... If i downmix to stereo i can hear the movie, but of course not in surround sound.

Did boxee beta change or install codecs that have screwed my config up.

I'm pretty sure this was not an issue with boxee alpha, and I was able to get MP4 video with aac to perform as expected.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

I can remove boxee beta and reinstall alpha but would like to keep beta if i can.

    thanks!

    Update:

I reinstalled Alpha 0.9.14 and mp4 with aac 6 ch audio works as expected.

So this is specifically when I install boxee beta 0.9.20.10063 that MP4 with AAC stops working properly.

Well I think i fixed the issue...

And it appears it had to do with my system.

I had various codecs installed like k-lite mega, coreaac, ac3filter, and i uninstalled all of them.

did a clean install of boxee beta, and things are working as expected.

That is the nature of mp4 files. With the newest Handbrake, you can add AC3 Audio tracks, rather than the AAC tracks, which is the default. The AC3 tracks allow Surround Sound.
