My HDMI audio works fine in Windows 7, but in Boxee I get no sound at all.
I've swapped between analog, stereo. I've changed the sound out put from default audio driver, to realtek high def audio driver, to HDMI audio and get nothing from any video.

Have you tried playing a video in Windows 7 on VLC player? Do you get sound?
Have you tried an analog sound?
If you're going from DVI>HDMI, some DVI out-puts do not support audio.

I'll check it tonight when I get home.
However, I'm running straight HDMI from my PC to my TV.
You said that you are getting HDMI sound in windows 7. What speakers do you have hooked up to your hdmi cable that would let you hear sound coming from it? The TV? So are you saying you hear the normal windows boops, beeps, clicks when moving around in the OS thru the TV? Can you hear sound when you play a youtube video?
make sure you have the HDMI cable plugged into the TV and PC. Turn off the PC and TV. Turn them back on. This resets your PCs audio/video cards. This worked for me hopefully it works for you.
Try this. Start playing a song in Boxee. Put Boxee in a small window by pressing the "\" key. click the speaker icon in the lower right hand corner of the task bar. This should bring up your volume control. Now click on "mixer". This should bring up all your app volume inputs. Is there in sound activity in the Boxee section? is it muted? Is the volume up high?
I found with my setup that some content could play via HDMI, and some couldn't (from Boxee). Moving to optical solved all my sound issues.

In the last couple of days I have found another Boxee bug regarding sound. It seems that if you are in Boxee and Alt+Tab to another application such as skype and then come back to Boxee, Boxee's sound is at a reduced volume even tho it says 100%. I'm not even sure if it's a volume issue or the channels are messed up. I have not had time to get the exact chain of events yet. However, quiting Boxee and restarting it always fixes the issue.
I'm having the same issues. Using a Asus EeePC 1201N (Atom/Ion based). I have absolutely no problems with my sound using VLC or WMP. In fact, Boxee itself has no problems playing sounds over HDMI until I start playing a video.
I can change the Audio Output to Analog and it'll play, albeit VERY quietly (compared to what I would normally have to set it as.)
My Windows sound sliders are all up, nothing muted.
