    Default Latest beta (0.9.20.10408) impressions

Since a lot of complaints/problems are registered here, thought I would add some positive.

The scanning in the latest beta has vastly improved, especially on TV shows. It went much quicker and recognition was much better. A few minor new issues which I will put up in the spreadsheet. One big issue with MASH (TV) which I previously put up still remains.

Out of 537 movies Boxee found 523 of them and only got 2 wrong (already up in the spreadsheet).

I know people want everything perfect, but for beta software and a re-write I find this to be pretty impressive.

    Kudos to the developers.

I don't know specifically what was changed between 261 and 408 (release notes only cover 9.20.xxxx and doesn't cover each release but it does seem to be getting better. I run Boxee on win XP and since first installing the beta every time I started Boxee up it popped up the "we screwed up and now need you to click ok so we can close" box (which I used to just stuff in the corner so you could only see a pixel of it) this new version takes care of this error for me. Also when I first installed the 408 it wouldn't load my tv shows, so I did a clean uninstall delete everything and reinstall new version, re-added my shares and scanning was done in a few hrs. (that may seem long, but that's about 120 shows and 150 movies so i can easily live with letting it do its initial scan over night.) Getting better Boxee, keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks for the info! In the future is there somewhere we can go to get this ourselves or do we just have to bother the mod's until one posts it like you were kind enough to do?

I'll say. I only knew about it because I check the downloads page almost as often as I check the forums. Would be nice if those of us who aren't in the private tester club could join a mailing list or something, or maybe Boxee itself could let us know there's a newer version to try. But again, thanks for the info.
