    Default iPhone Killer!!!!

I am an avid fan of iPhone due to its fantastic appeal and very impressive features.Sometimes I wonder why other vendors like to make iPhone killer rather than trying for making a good smart phone without any comparison.I always find fun when people think that this mobile will definitely be an iPhone killer.I believe that there will never be an iPhone killer. What you think the lovers and hatters of iPhone?

Whenever you set the bar as high as Apple does people will always look to unseat you.

What will kill the iPhone? Killing it completely is impossible. Apple Fanboys are an unreasonable lot. Logic, facts and hands-on proof often escape their reasoning for holding to their dear Apple products so tightly.

I never had an iPhone. I do have a Droid. I had a BlackBerry before that, a Q before the BlackBerry and a RAZR before that. I've steadily upped my phone integration with my daily life.

The Droid surpasses all my previous phone experiences. Not only is it a very good phone it's app store makes it an amazing tool.

Why will the Droid, Nexus 1 or any other Android based handset be more widely used and developed for than the iPhone?

    1. It has more customers available to it. Verizon has more subscribers.

    2. Verizon is not plagued with call quality or drop complaints.

    3. Motorola has a GSM handset in the works for use with Vodafone.

    4. The Nexus One is available on T-mobile and coming to Verizon & Vodafone.

    5. The iPhone is stuck on AT&T with no plans to move.

    6. The tools to develop for Android are free and run cross platform.

    7. Getting an app into the Android Market requires no authorization.

Hardware is hardware. They will continue to leapfrog each other so re-stating all the ways that the new Android handsets are better with regards to hardware is futile.

Multi-touch? Is it really that life changing? I've never had it so it means nothing to me. The people that will be buying Android handsets, if they weren't iPhone users, won't know the difference either. That said, it's already rumored that multi-touch is coming to all Android handsets.

Just my opinion. Flame away. I like reading different views.

Why do all "avid iPhone fans" think everything else attempts to be an iPhone killer or is an iPhone knock off?

The term iPhone killer really only comes from the media. Journalists use that term because of the popularity of the iPhone and for no other reason. Believe it or not the iPhone is not the best selling smartphone platform. Both Blackberry and Nokia's S60 sell more units world wide (last I checked anyway). iPhone is just the buzzword everyone uses when talking about a fancy touchscreen device.

Alsa, even though it might have been the first well known phone on the market with a capacitive touchscreen and interface for it doesn't mean nobody else was already developing one of their own. Google bought the company making Android well before the iPhone launched, and the amount of effort Palm put into the WebOS platform had to be started well before the iPhone launched. I'm sure the development was changed after the iPhone came out, but I still wouldn't consider them knock offs. Those samsung and LG touchscreen phones are the knockoffs. They don't strive to do anything except act like an iPhone.

I like the iPhone itself and think it's a great platform, but I'd never buy one. It's too limiting for me. I like open source software too much. I use Ogg Vorbis audio files, I like beta testing early releases, I hate iTunes, I like home screens with data, I like apps running in the background (downloading podcasts, apps, etc. while doing other stuff).

Oh... and I wrote this from a macbook.

@ dot09 agree with you to the point.

The dolphin browser in the market does support multi-touch, and now that i've been using it, it does bug me the rest of the android os doesn't have it.

Also, I think your talking to a spambot XD

You are probably correct, but it's worth airing out for Boxee's members to join in on.
