Default How long to index my TV shows? I'm still waiting!

    Hi

First of all congratulations on the Boxee Beta, I think the new interface is completely fantastic.

I'm having a little trouble with TV shows though. I have a video folder of about 29gb on my PC (Windows XP, Core 2 Duo, 9600GT Graphics Card), Boxee indexed my Music and Movies right away, but (and I've had the software since the Beta came out) it still says "Indexing your TV shows, this may take a while".

Now, I left Boxee running when we first got the Beta for about 9 hours, and I've been using it since and keep checking back on my TV shows but I still get the message that "this may take some time". You're not kidding

Should I submit a debug log or is there anything else I can try?

Indexing can take a really long time right now (the devs are working on it), but you can help speed it up by making sure your episode files are named properly:

Before posting bugs/problems, make sure you check Boxee Support, this announcement and use the forum search function.

    Another casualty =)

Is there a thread or Jira bug or something that talks about the scan slowness and what the problem is (or might be)?

A search/sort on indexing at jira, only the newest (top) ones are most pertinent:

Some are fixed, some are still open.

If you meant to post a link that showed related Jira bugs, it didn't work.

Phooey, it only works if you're logged in at jira.boxee.tv and only for the current session. /shakes fist a jira!

So, go here: http://jira.boxee.tv/ and enter:

    indexing

for the search term and then click on "key" at the top of the second column *twice* and you'll see the newest issues first related to indexing.

This one http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE-3733 is probably the most interesting read, including related issues, etc.

3733 is a good one, though I'm curious about anyone officially recognizing that scans are so slow - I haven't seen any bug reports or official comments yet to note that the devs are aware. Just checking if I'm missing something.

I had the same issue (as the thread starter), but adding my tv series folder as separate resource in boxee solved the problem.
