Switch from Aired to DVD order

It would be nice if there was the ability to switch from the Aired order to DVD order for tv shows. I have a few shows that are showing the incorrect orders. Example Firefly, Futurama, King of Queens, Farscape are a few. I am not sure if TheTVDB.com has the ability to return DVD order and not Aired in the scraper or whatever is used. Maybe a simple check box on the TV show screen to enable DVD ordering? Thanks for the new beta. It is quite fantastic.

Boxee doesn't use TVDB anymore, it uses IMDB. If IMDB includes that kind of info, it might be possible to do this, however, shouldn't the aired order and DVD order be the same in 99% of cases?

Oh I did not know they had switched to IMDB. From what I can see at IMDB there is no DVD order. I was surprised at how many tv shows are aired out of order. So far I have at least 4 or 5 that are incorrect out of maybe 20-25. So about 25% I am guess that if IMDB does not list the dvd order then there is nothing that can be done, short of renaming the files to match the aired order. Which in the example of Firefly would put the story slightly out of whack, those crazy Fox people.

Is there a solution to this issue? Maybe a way to alter the stored database directly? I too have Firefly and it is annoying that the episodes are shown out of order in Boxee.

I too would love to be able to change the episode order! Firefly is my main reason for this, especially since I absolutely prefer it in DVD release order as opposed to the aired order.

Others might have already figured this out, but as a new Boxee user Firefly was one of the only things that was driving me insane. I've fixed it now thanks to MediaCompanion. It's open source, and available here: http://mediacompanion.codeplex.com/

I used the stable release, and when I chose to scan Firefly I selected the option to pull the info from TVDB and chose "DVD Order".

Now finally I have shows in the order intended!

I hope this helps someone else out.

How does media companion plug in to Boxee? Or do you mean you've switched over to XBMC?
