Default LINUX Photo / Video Organization and Boxee

Is there a photo and or video library app in where if I create albums, lists etc
it will be seen on boxee , i.e., the albums, tags, etc. and not just the folders

    (like iphoto on mac)

I have tried Picasa however boxee can only view picasa albums, faces etc through the app online (picasa web), plus if you upload to picasa the same pics twice you double your size unlike locally, so if i want to view my pictures say 8 different ways well I need serious space. and video don't work on linux picasa either.

also for videos say I have 7 movies in a folder for 2009 videos and I want to watch them all, if they can't be put together (like itunes) in order for me to watch all of 2009 I would need to make a full movie combining them all therefore doubling my space, unless in the future boxee supports playlists, play all, etc.

I really want to go full on linux and leave macs behind for good, this is the only thing stopping me.
