Default Boxee Beta - Status 11

    Hello,

Using my copy of the Boxee Beta and ssh terminal access, I manually installed a copy of Boxee Beta on my AppleTV.

The program launches perfectly - Boxee logo, startup sound, beautiful sky, everything. However, once I log in and get to the home screen, Boxee will quit and I'll get a Status 11 error message.

This only happens once I log in and go to the home screen - I completely erased "UserData" and relaunched, there is no crash at all until I put in my name and password to sign in and get to the home screen. Only then does it inexplicably die after a few seconds.

In guisettings.xml, I set 'autothumb' to 'false' and even tinkered with all other options, including by setting ALL items to FALSE or TRUE, then rebooting Boxee - no go, same error.

I erased CrashReporter.log and Boxee.log so that each would ONLY contain information about this specific crash.

Here is the text of each:
    CrashReporter.log
    Boxee.log

Please help, the Beta looks beautiful and I'd like to actually use it!!

Are you using the Mac version of the Beta? I was under the impression there was no beta yet for ATV... I know the Mac version will not work on ATV.

There's no official ATV version of the beta yet, but there is a mention in the release notes for the public beta that that issue may have been fixed. Maybe upgrade to the newest version of the beta and see if it works now?

I'm with you. I know they have tons going on, but my impression was that the beta would be available on or even before public beta release. I understand it's not available for general consumption, but isn't that the point of a beta? Especially a closed beta?

There were many internal versions of the Beta before the closed Beta testing began. Obviously there are still issues that prevent the ATV Beta from being releaed. Give them time to iron out whatever issues still persist and we'll have our ATVs running the Beta soon enough.

Yes it's the Mac Beta but it runs perfectly and smoothly, minus the inexplicable Status 11 exits. I know the reason for this must be minor because everything looks beautiful and runs quickly and perfectly.

    Default Boxee Beta ATV

How does one get the beta on the ATV? I am willing to go thru a little troubleshooting.

I"m also interested. I tried copying it to the appications folder but no luck there via ssh. Can do you do a quick how-to guide?

I think beta is much better then alpha and would like to see if it solved some issues I have on the ATV. I'm thinking I might need to upgrade to a mac mini in the future if the ATV doesn't work as I like.

<EDIT> So I made a copy of my mac Boxee Beta and called BoxeeBeta and put it in the appications folder in the frontrow user. I then launched it from NitoTv application and it seem to start fine. I saw my first screen which I see on my mac that has the queues - but it bombs after that. I suspect it's because all the settings I have on my mac don't work onthe aTV (like file location of queue files). Is there a prefrence location where boxee gets its info from? Maybe deleting that and having it start fresh will help.
