Weird sound

I am using a Zotac motherboard with sound outputing through HDMI. It works fine on XBMC and other applications, but in Boxee (first Alpha, now Beta) it doesn't work well at all. It starts with the menu and login sounds and it happens randomly on net videos: Ted talks and Revision3 so far. The sound has interference, some metallic -ish reverberation.

Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix the sound? This, added to the segmentation fault problem of the scanner (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=13598) is turning boxee beta into a rather useless piece of software, miles away from both the alpha and XBMC...Hope we can help fix these problems!

Sound distortion / screaching issues in v1.2 on the Boxee Box are fixed in v1.5. A beta is available now (see the sticky near the top of the Boxee Box section) or you can wait for the final release that might be out later this month.
