Quick Question About Uninstalling Boxee on Jaunty

If I wanted to uninstall Boxee in order to start fresh would I go to the synaptic package manager do a complete removal and then delete the user data folder? Or would I run sudo apt-get remove --purge boxee? Or run the commands below?

sudo apt-get purge boxee
sudo rm -rf /opt/boxee
mv ~/.boxee ~/.boxee.alpha

There seems to be many ways to do this on the forum. Thank you in advance.

I would do this:

If I wanted to keep my settings

 mv ~/.boxee ~/.boxee_alpha

and then remove the program either through synaptic or

sudo apt-get purge boxee

I prefer apt-get, but you may use synaptic. Then you can reinstall and copy your settings again by reverting the first command.

If you type

locate boxee

from the command prompt, it will tell you where boxee is and you may check if anything has been left by your uninstall.

Then just substitute the first instruction with

rm ~/.boxee -r

and go ahead with apt-get, etc.

Thanks, and when that is done and I run the Boxee install it will be a virgin install with no user settings in it correct?
