I'm having the same issue.
Tried it on my old laptop, doesn't seems to work:
Thinkpad T30
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 - M CPU 2GHz
512MB RAM
Radeon Mobility 7500
Ubuntu 8.04
Will try later on my newer desktopCode:dor@laptop:~$ /usr/boxee/run-boxee-desktop cd: 38: can't cd to /usr/boxee/3rdparty/rtorrent 19/09/08 15:17:44#DEBUG#bxbgprocess.cpp:142(Start)#bg process initialized. 1 worker threads created. 19/09/08 15:17:44#DEBUG#bxcurl.cpp:54(Initialize)#curl initialized. version <7.18.0> Running Boxee test... hi dor
sorry ...the Radeon Mobility 7500 is unsupported. our minimal requirements include an opengl 1.4 compatible card. according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...ocessing_units, your card is an open gl 1.3.
My 7300GT works great, with the non-free drivers. And with my low-grade 1.6ghz sempron it may have some lags in a one place or another, but if I don't decide to watch full HD, I'm pretty satisfied with my old PC and boxee. I have an all silicon motherboard so the sound-card should be from silicon, Ill check it right away.
EDIT: The sound-processor is SiS Sl7012! And it works !*![]()

what would be nice is being able to run boxee on a PS3, running ubuntu.
this would be a killer media center...
If you compile EVERYTHING from source, not just boxee, but all the libraries then it is possible, its just a thing I wouldn't want to fiddle around for 10 hours with a possibility of anything happening, in which case the whole work can burst into flames that eat up all the project till the point where you have to start from something that's worse than scrap.
sorry, this was posted before... search on "ps3" did not return anything though

Running Boxee on:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
GFX: MSI nVidia 6600GT VIVO
RAM: 1 GB Corsair Value RAM - PC5200 i think... can't remember really :P
HDD: Old 10GB IBM thing
Running the Revision3 HD videos just fine.
