Default Rescan folders, show file name

I know manual renaming/"Wrong video" function is coming, but is there a way to have boxee rescan your media folders for changes?

I.e. A movie was recognized incorrectly, so in an effort to fix it I renamed the movie with a better naming scheme to include year etc. But as far as can tell, even if I go to FILES and select SCAN FOR MEDIA. It doesn't update it, it still show the wrong info now linked to a non-existent file that was renamed, so it crashes if I try to play.

It'd be nice if boxee scanned to see if files were moved or deleted and updated the database.

Also, how can I show the file name? Sometimes boxee is so off I can't even tell what movie it's supposed to be without watching it. Simply showing the file name would be nice.

File names are shown. When you select a movie, roll your mouse over the "Local File" text below the title or select it with remote, then down below in gray text you will see the path naming structure.

As far as re-scanning your directories... Go here...

Settings > Media > Local Sources > then select the source, over on the right side you will see an "Update" button to rescan the folder.

Not sure my machine is properly scanning. On xbmc I can see it doing it, and don't mind that Boxee hides it. However, now that my folders aren't updating properly in the library I wish I had more to go on.

Anyway to view the log of the scanning?

Scanning takes a while (about 4 minutes). You also must navigate out of the movie section.

Please search in the forums and you will find accurate timing by one of the mods.

The log file has scanning information.

Cheers,
S.
