Thread: [Release] Skysports

    Default [Release] Skysports

Just released a new sports app for boxee, Skysports.com and the Sports shows and highlights that they provide. If you enjoy sports apps on Boxee, you'll like this as well as the 4 other apps that I've previously released in the past month (Bigten Network, GolTv, UEFA Champions League and FootyTube). Please let me know if you find any issues with any of these. You can find my repository at:

    http://www.gilliards.com/boxee_repository/

All 5 apps are available there. I'm on to the next project and if your a sports fan, please pass any ideas on as I'd like to create an NCAA live feed for the Basketball Tournament this year, but I need to find a live feed to test with.

Also, I'd like to thank mdpauley for the feed idea that he implemented on his NFL App, I took a bit of that idea into the Skysports app to show the latest news feeds on each sport category.

Great job! If anyone would like to see how I generate the feeds or my set up in general, please PM me.

Side note... the repository link is not working...

    mdpauley,

Does it not work within Boxee? It will not work from the browser, but it does within boxee. Just checked and they are appearing on mine. If anyone else has the same problem, please let me know.

    Default Live Feeds

Has anyone dealt with Live sports feeds (or any)? I know that sopcast isn't possible in python, but I'd like to take on some live sporting events for a next project. Let me know if you have something you'd like.

I'm having some problems on all the football apps - I cannot move the focus to the left to select from the menu, so can only select from the list on the screen when the app starts.

This is very frustrating, because I cannot select, for example, the English Premier League. Have I missed something about how to operate the app, or is this a bug?

    Thanks for your help.

I am using the OSX version on Snow Leopard.

    Lestrigg,

I don't have OSX, but is it possible for you to take a screenshot of the issue and send me a PM with what you have. I'll fix this and if it's happening with all of my other apps, I'll fix those as well. The problem happens using a mouse, correct? If you can give me the steps, I'm assuming it's just from you clicking left on the menu. Which choices don't work? Sorry for all the questions, I'd like to fix this quickly for all users.

Thanks for the very quick reply.

Perhaps you have already identified my misunderstanding - I cannot get it to work with the Apple remote (which is what I always use).

I had tried the keyboard as an alternative, but not the mouse. It works fine with the mouse, so the issue is now only one of being inconvenient - unable to use remote control - rather than app being unusable.

There would be nothing to send in a screenshot. It would only show the initial startup screen for the app, but I will send one if you think it will help.

To try and describe the problem in more detail, if I call up the new Sky Sports app, a menu of available lists is shown down the left of the screen, and a much larger, scrollable list of videos to the right. The app starts in the video list. I can scroll up and down this list, but not jump to the menu list on the left using the remote or keyboard.

If I use the mouse (as you have now suggested) I can select the menu list, but now, unless I use the mouse again, I am stuck in the menu and cannot move back to the video list.

Thanks again for your speedy reply - I hope my longer description helps.

    Les
