Default Connect to iMac via airport express

    Hello all,

New Boxee user with a question.
Could someone please explain to me how get boxee to see a folder on my iMac connected to my apple TV via an Airport Express. I have entered what I thought was the ISP/User Name/Password. But it doesn't find anything. Do I need to set things up on the iMac? I am fairly Mac savvy until it gets to the network stuff.

    Thanks.

Just to clarify, you have Boxee running on your Apple TV and you want to view media that resides on your Mac?

Check out this site for instructions on sharing a folder from your iMac. http://lifehacker.com/software/mac-o...-pc-247541.php

Once you create a shared folder you can add it as a media source in Boxee.

I created a folder in Movies called Boxee Media. I would like to put stuff in there and have it accessed by Boxee on my AppleTV.

Correct. My iMac is connected wirelessly to Airport Express. Does that matter?

no ..via boxee go to Settings >media sources>network see if your imac is located in the list if not add the IP manually then browse to the shared folder and select "Add to source."

Thanks... just to be clear. Is there a difference between the IP address of my iMac and the one for the Airport? I seem to find different numbers. Where do I find the correct IP address that I need?

in your Imac you can either find the address if you are running boxee vis settings>general .. or you can find it via a terminal and enter "ifconfig"..
