    Default Widget Remote (Apple Dashboard)

I've made an apple dashboard widget remote.

    You can get it here.

I've had a couple of requests for a windows version, so I'll be working on that soon.

    Enjoy!

I started using it a few days ago. Great addition!

I've successfully tested this widget on a Vista and an XP computer using kludget.

I'd never used it before but it's a free program that lets you run dashboard widgets on windows computers.

I'd still love that actual windows version, but thought some people might appreciate a fix for now. Thanks!

I'm not a mac user aside from the tangerine iMac i scored for $20 at Value Village. and there seems to be a few different answers. These may be OS version specific or they may just all be different ways to figure out the same thing. Finding an answer on support.apple.com or through a search engine likely won't take any longer than it did to write your post here.

Open up system preferences, then click on Sharing. Just underneath the top where it says computer name you should see your host name.

Alternatively you can get you ip address from the boxee menu. Go to Settings->General to get your IP. Enter that into the host name field and that will work as well.

Does anyone with Windows Vista want to test the gadget version? I have windows 7 but I want to make sure there are no major differences or oddities on vista before I release it.

I know this is a bit late, but do you mean through kludget? I've tested on xp, vista and win 7 with no issues. If you mean a windows version, I can do that. Got vista on my GF's laptop till I can convince her to yoink it off.

    Updated to version 1.2

Added virtual keyboard support and some other things. Just start typing when you get a virtual keyboard in boxee. It's pretty cool.
