    Exclamation cover art

    Help! i just upgraded to windows 7 and reinstalled a clean copy of boxee. i linked my media sources, and it has scanned them all, the problem is about 60% of my TV shows are missing any form of cover art. in place i get gray pictures of a video camera.... i have tried removing the sources and re adding them, i have had boxee running for about 24 hours and it has not resolved it on its own, i have restarted several times, and there is no change. can someone please help me?

    Thanks

    I posted something similar to this on another thread. I am having the same problem, I moved all me media off my hard drive, and onto an external one, and when I went to put them back in my library, it wasn't pulling TV cover art for any show. Another member had the same problem as we did. As of now I haven't heard or figured any fix. If anything changes on your end let us know, and I will do the same as well.

    Hi!

    I am a new user and I found this too, in another post I found that it had something with how TVDB (?) the place Boxee scrapes the TV info from has changed a directory.

    The solution in that post (but I can't find it again since I've looked at so many today) was to add this line to your `hosts' file in Windows:

    208.76.155.58 images.thetvdb.com

    (There is a forum post on TVDB about it as well:
    http://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic....start=20#p7776

    Hope that helps, it worked for me, all my TV art was there all of a sudden!

    I thought it was odd how my 2009 Showtime shows are updating, but not the ABC, CBS, NBC shows.

    I'll give this a whirl.

    Here is the fix for ATV users. Past the same in the hosts file below:
    208.76.155.58 images.thetvdb.com

    Problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to make the pasted info Stick inside Nano. I've looked at the Nano how to site, but cant find a command that says how to do this...let alone no keystrokes or enter key do absolutely nothing. Any insight on Nano and Putty?

    Update:

    Ok, I figured out that the ^ equals the Control Key. So after I past the host file address hit ^X to exit. It asks if you want to save the file, but when you select Yes it says permission denied. What's the secret handshake here?

    Try the command:
    Code:
    sudo nano /etc/hosts
    Should bypass permission problems.

    Ok, that worked. (this is for ATV not Windows)

    Paste the address in the host file just below the MESU.apple.com.
    Key ^X to exit (remember ^ = Control Key) So Control+X
    Asks you to save the file
    key nothing just hit inside Enter key.
    Prompts for a password. Which is: frontrow
    That saves the file and exits Nano

    I logged back in and the address was saved.

    Thanks!

    Now lets see if the artwork shows up.

    Update:
    2009 Season pics and meta data are now showing in ATV!

    1. Start Notepad
    2. File --> Open
    3. In the "File Name" box, paste this and hit the "Open" button:
      Code:
      %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\
      This should take you to where your hosts file is stored on your particular Windows system.

    4. Change the file type to "All Files"
    5. Select and open the "hosts" file.
    6. Scroll down to the very bottom of the file and on a new line paste the following:
      Code:
      208.76.155.58 images.thetvdb.com
    7. File --> Save
    8. File --> Exit
    9. Restart Boxee

    Note that you have to be logged in or have access to the Administrator account in order to modify this file.
