Default How To Delete played/viewed media from WHS via Boxee

Hi I just installed Boxee and I am loving it! I connected my AppleTV/Boxee to my Windows Home Server (WHS) and have all the media ready for playback.

    My Q:

How can I delete a file after it has been played/viewed ?

    Many Thxs

Boxee doesn't currently have the ability to delete the file (even if permissions on the remote network share permit this action). This has been a requested feature though (for local files at least).

To delete the file you would have to connect to the server with your usual network and file management tools (Finder on Mac or File Explorer on Windows) and delete like any other file on the network.

There's also some discussion in the forum on if Boxee should even touch the file beyond reading (especially since some network shares may not have permissions for delete).

I'd like to see some media management capabilities like delete and updating tags while others think this shouldnt be done at all.

+1... i would like to delete dvr'd shows from mythtv.

boxee's xbmc core supports this ability, but the delete action is not exposed in the ui, even if you enable it.

    maybe post an official request:

personal: boxee | twitter | boxee hq
boxee: boxee chat | boxee wiki | boxee plugins

i run boxee 0.9.20 on: ubuntu 9.10, windows xp sp3 (virtual machine), windows 7 and a neuros link hacked to all hell.

what super powers does a 'super mod' have? the 'super ban'... that, and laser vision.

How do I enable this and how does it work? Not via UI?

How about under xbmc. Where can I enable this option?

Would be OK for now to switch to xbmc to delete files from WHS & NAS

    in xbmc it's:
settings > appearance > view options > allow file renaming and deletion
personal: boxee | twitter | boxee hq
boxee: boxee chat | boxee wiki | boxee plugins

This is why Boxee still doesn't compare to XBMC for local playback.
