Default local media playlists and random play

Is there a way to setup playlists or random play for all of my personal music? I've gone through all the settings and can't seem to find a way to queue music or play my whole library randomly.

I know how to make playlists in other media players, but my remote doesn't work with them. I want to make one with in the boxee app.

wow did you sign-up for an account just to make the most useless comment I have seen? If he wanted to use other media players he would not have bothered to ask the question in the Boxee forum.

as far as I know there isn't a way to do so in boxee. However If it is a requested enough feature it should be easy to implement sense XBMC has the functionality.

Now I have posted the second most useless post.

I almost bought a boxee today and then found out it can't do random. Incredible that such a basic feature is missing. Hope it gets added soon, I really want to buy one.

Expanded music library functionality is one of the most requested features and has been for some time, now.

    1. Several people are currently working on a music player app for Boxee that will incorporate features like this. I don't think it's ready for public testing yet, though.

    2. If I had to guess, I'd say that an overhaul of the music portion of the Boxee library is a top priority that they plan to get to after they finish squashing the current major bugs going around and after they finally get Netflix and Vudu support rolled out. People really want their Netflix, er, fix.

    3. I currently use Audiogalaxy to stream my entire music collection, and it includes a random play feature as well as proper cover art generation, Last.fm scrobbling, etc. Right now, the Boxee Box browser isn't able to log in to services like this, but I have to imagine that this functionality is coming sometime in the foreseeable future.

Additionally, I contacted the Audiogalaxy team and they are planning to open up an API in a few months, at which time we could see a standalone Audiogalaxy app for Boxee. To me, this is ideal.
