Default "ld.so: object" followed by "script" pop up error when playing flash stream on hulu

    Hey All,

I keep getting the following message whenever I try playing shows on hulu.

ERROR: ld.so: object './bxoverride-linux.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

There is no immediate problem seen when playing the shows, but after 5-10 minutes, they get choppy and out of sync. Then about 5 minutes after that I get a pop-up error about some script causing flash player to run slowly. Here is the exact message:

"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort this script?"

After I abort the script by clicking on "yes," the tv show is completely out of sync, and I have to restart it. But the same error occurs again in another 5-10 minutes. I am in the process of capturing some debug logs and will post as soon as I have them.

I also found the following thread in this forum where the same error message is seen:

    http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=8078

I tried every one of the suggestions in that thread with no love.

If anyone has any suggestions to try I'd be very grateful. I've almost got the wife on board with the whole idea of cutting our satellite off, and this is a sticking point with her.

    Thanks!

Been looking through the forums some more and I came across the following two threads:

    http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=11857
    http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=11769

Looks like some other folks are running into the same issue as me. I have captured some debug mode logs, and the text output from the terminal where I had boxee running from the command line. I'll attach those to this thread. I've looked through the logs, but don't really know what I am looking for. If someone who knows what they are doing could give it a glance I'd be really grateful. For this capture, I started boxee from the command line, and went directly to the Hulu app and started an episode of scrubs. When the pop-up warning appeared, I did nothing. I just left everything alone until the app hanged.

Also, for all I know this could be a hardware issue. My video cards are not VDPAU capable (GeForce FX 5200). Does anyone know if a card with VDPAU acceleration capabilities could help here? Is anyone with a VDPAU capable card affected by this problem?

    Thanks!

Sigh...my logs are too big...even compressed. Capturing a new log now.

OK. I got a log file that is gigantic this time. I've looked over the logs myself, but I don't really know what I am looking at. I'm attaching the logs and my notes from reviewing them. Hopefully someone can check them out and let me know where they think the problem may be.

Here are the only obvious error messages that I see after the episodes start playing:

14:19:45 T:64834448 M:1030688768 DEBUG: Boxee: 14/09/09 14:19:45#ERROR#boxee.cpp:709(DoWork)#failed to run user action in BG

    and:

14:19:46 T:2757745552 M:1020747776 ERROR: Configure called without a valid Renderer object

Not long after this I can see some sort of GL rendering cleanup, and a save state for the show. This is followed shortly by the following:

    14:19:47 T:3086313424 M:1013907456 DEBUG: ------------------- GUI_MSG_WINDOW_DEINIT
    14:19:47 T:3086313424 M:1013907456 DEBUG: Progress dialog
    14:19:47 T:3086313424 M:1013907456 DEBUG: -------------------
    14:19:47 T:3086313424 M:1020985344 DEBUG: ------------------- GUI_MSG_WINDOW_INIT
    14:19:47 T:3086313424 M:1021095936 DEBUG: Fullscreen video
    14:19:47 T:3086313424 M:1021095936 DEBUG: -------------------

I'm not sure, b/c I was not sitting in front of the TV at the time, but could these messages above correspond to the GUI pop-up asking me to kill the script?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Sorry - typo in the last post. I meant to say "I got a log that was NOT gigantic this time."

The attached log is only 800k unzipped.

Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing is following this thread...

I work mainly with Fedora, but just to be on the safe side I installed a Mythbuntu - Jaunty box today as well. The result was the same exact error messages followed by the same pop-up asking me to kill the script. I'm pretty certain at this point that this is not due to any of hacking necessary to get boxee running on Fedora.

I also captured the output of the debug logs when I clicked on the pop-up button to kill the script. I didn't see much of interest there, but I'm attaching it to this thread as well.

Is anyone else affected by this or is it just myself and the several others I've seen in the forum?

    Thanks!

Default Update: New Video Card, Still Crashing

So apparently I got lucky and the first few videos with the new video card jsut happened to run clean. After a day, I just witnessed my first 'crash' where the flash error pops up once again. It appears that me upgrading the the nvidia 7800GS had no positive effect. I will keep an eye on it and see if the frequency of errors at least diminishes.

As a side note, once you click 'Yes' in the dialog box and the video catches back up, you will no longer get any ads in Hulu; it seems to skip them all and go right back to the video. The downfall is you lose the ability to pause the video.

I completely missed the fact that ads are not shown after the error, I noticed that paused no longer worked. Think that it has something to do with transitioning from program to ad and back? Does the error seem to occur when the ads are supposed to run? I don't think so.

Is it me or is this happening less often all of a sudden?

Just happened to me with the most recent show that I watched. Pretty sure it happens basically every time someone watches Hulu through boxee on my machine.
