is there a way to move the userdata from raoming to local?

    so from

    doc and settings\user\application data\......

    to
    c:\Boxee\Userserdata

    ???

without uninstalling and installing again? so by just changing a setting somewhere?

Why would you want to do this? It seems to go against the whole point that the Windows file structure exists upon.

i have no admin rights on my laptop, company.

i have instaled boxee with roaming userdata. But this is taking space in my profile at work, which is now causing a problem.

I want to fix this by moving the userdata to local.

is this possible by changing a setting in one of the XML files for example?

I've requested this as well. There's many different reasons users would want this.

In my case, I don't want my data under Windows file structure, I store it on separate drives, so I can do clean Windows installs and completely wipe my Windows drive whenever I need to, without losing any data. I have as little as possible on my Windows drive.

In my husband's case, he runs a Windows laptop, and a Linux desktop, so he stores data on a separate network drive that is shared by both.

Just because that's the way Microsoft wants us to store data, that doesn't mean the end user necessarily agrees this is the best thing.

I believe boxee should store things in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Application Data
    vs
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data

    so it doesn't roam.

call it roaming, call it what you want...it now takes up space in my userprofile, which the administrator at my work does not like. That is why I want to move it to a different place.

So lets please dont start different discussions, but lets try to answer the initial question:

is it possible to move the userdata to "local in the Boxee installation-directory" in stead of the userprofile by changing a setting somewhere?
