Default Boxee in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) alpha

    Hi,

Is there any method to install boxee in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala alpha?
I tried to add the karmic repository but is not yet available. And with the jaunty repository i get this error message:

    Code:

Reading the lists of packages ... Ready
    The build tree of dependencies
Reading information from state ... Ready
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that
you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the
unstable distribution that some packages have not been requested
created or been moved from Incoming.
The following information may help resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
Boxing: Depends: liblzo1 but it is not installable
    E: Package damaged
Note: this was translated from portuguese, sorry for that.

    Then i can't install liblzo1.

    Any ideas?

    Regards

    Default Clean 9.10 Karmic Koala

Just tried to install boxee on the final release of karmic via the jaunty deb.
I also had to grab libkrb53

    Smile

ditto... installed everything suggested above and installed successfully. It froze the first time it loaded, but then I installed the proprietary video drivers and now it works fine. Thanks!

I installed the three files mentioned above before getting Boxee to install. Boxee appears to have installed, however when I start it the screen goes blank. Any sugestions? How do you load the proprietary video driver?

In Ubuntu , go to System , then Administration , then Hardware Drivers .
This will show you what proprietary drivers are available .
Just enable the proper one .
Older ATI cards will not have prop drivers , but radeon is pretty good
