boxee exited with status 6

Hi all,

I have a brand new appleTV and when I try to launch Boxee I get the following error message:

"Error: XBMC/Boxee exited with status: 6"

How can I get more info about this error?

A little info: I had a few issues creating the patch stick, but after erasing the whole drive it worked after a bit of haggling with it. I think the install of the patch stick software went well, and then updating Boxee for the first time finished successfullly.

Also, XBMC launches, but I haven't configured any media so it's not fully tested.

Any thoughts on the above error?

I don't know about error 6...
The boxee error codes are mystical things that change meaning depending on the phase of the moon and the position of jupiter...

Do you get to the boxee login screen or does it crash right after launch?

It's crashing right after I launch it...

please remove the Userdata and retry if boxee is still crashing please send me your crashreporter log (~/Library/Logs/Crashreporter/)

I am having the exact same problem, out of the blue. I deleted everything in my userdata folder but no luck. Tried to install Boxee again through ATV and still having the problem.

Will send whatever info needed to solve the problem - but I am just fumbling my way through this so can only really follow direct instructions (I have zero actual understanding of how linux works, etc).

Thanks for the help! I'm frustrated and sad right now; really wanted to watch hulu on my big TV last night instead of the laptop.

Please post the versions of the Loader and Boxee app that you have installed.

I had this happen last night, the ATV has been on for a few days, maybe a week or more. All working fine. Last night, went to watch some things on iPlayer, and it would not come out of sleep mode, it was ignoring the IR remote, the white light on front of the ATV was not flashing.

So a quick power cycle. System boots, then I start boxee, it exits with this error code 6.

I power cycle again, this time it trys to loging, but then asks me for the password it usually remebers. I enter the password, this works. But I then find the screen is out of alignment and I have to reinstall TVcomposite.kext for my PAL SCART TV.

It was working again last night, have not looked this morning.
