I definitely support this idea, since 2.72 TB out of my 3.9 TB of video is anime.
Until then, I guess I'll just continue using Plex.

Not even 5% of my 4.5 TB anime collection is picked up by IMBD. I wouldn't care that much if there only was an auto play next video feature.
I would like to put my vote in for AniDB support as well. They have a quite robust and accessible API for requesting anime data by name which could work very well with Boxee software. As this thread shows, there is likely no real shortage of people using or who would like to use Boxee software and have an extensive Anime library like myself, it would be nice to get these properly added into our boxee interface instead of always having to browse by file.
I notice that this request was forwarded almost 2 years ago and still hasn't seen fruition which is a little disappointing. Hopefully it is something that will be considered in the near future. IMDB support works great for movies and north american series but anyone trying to use this for TV Shows from outside of North America will certainly suffer some frustrations.
This is something I would like to see. I was close to buying a boxee box but after testing it on my PC first and seeing how it scraped anime and couldn't find 99% of it, I've given up on that idea.
Yeah i have given up on this already, Boxee has no interest in us "small" anime community. I simply recommend the new MediaPortal 1.2 with the MyAnime2 plugin.
This will find 100% of your anime collection and even sync the watched status to your AniDB profile. It will show recommendations, anime release calender and more, all things i never even dreamed of for Boxee.
bye Andy
yeah, it would be great if they changed their minds and add support for this... Just got the boxee box and as many of you a large part of my library is anime, too bad![]()
We still need this. I got a Boxee Box because it's one of the only devices with acceptable support for SSA/ASS subtitles, but the experience is marred by having none of my Anime scrape properly. I've tried resorting to NFO generatirs, but they all seem to use TheTVDB, which has godawful treatment of sequel shows.
