I also vote for VH1 shows. I hate all the reality bullcrap, but the wife "has to have it".

Here are some more that I would like
NasaTV - Both live streaming of whatever Nasa Broadcasts, and a section of past videos. (http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplayli...segment=149773) I think this would be cool. Looks "easy" to make as well!
WebMD - Has useful health tips. Don't know how easy/hard it would be to make though.
CNN/FOXNEWS - Basically any kind of LIVE streaming news service would be nice. Fox news I believe broadcasts live online.
We already have access to TED talks, it would be awesome to see other lectures/content from:
The ResearchChannel - http://www.researchchannel.org/prog/
SeedMagazine - http://seedmagazine.com/
ForaTV - http://fora.tv/
Wired
Would like to thak you guys for making the OpenCourseware content accesible and boxee in general, its made my life much easier with regards to learning and massively improved my accesibility to all my local video/audio lectures.
P.S. the research channel is an awesome resource for scientists/engineers and gevelopers and has over 3,500 titles.
personal: boxee | twitter | boxee hq
boxee: boxee chat | boxee wiki | boxee plugins
i run boxee 0.9.20 on: ubuntu 9.10, windows xp sp3 (virtual machine), windows 7 and a neuros link hacked to all hell.
what super powers does a 'super mod' have? the 'super ban'... that, and laser vision.
Well BBC Live is pretty much done now, so I'm on the look out for something to start. Looking at WIRED it doesn't seem too difficult, so i think i will make an app for that. If i start it I'll be sure to let you all know.
how about one for http://tvcatchup.com/
The idea of a TVCatchUp boxee application was put forward to the owners, but fell through for several reasons. I cant see they would support it but who knows.
here are some of my ideas
scfi channel (now SYFY) full episodes - http://www.syfy.com/rewind/
scfi channel (now SYFY) videos mostly clips - http://video.syfy.com/
BBC America video - http://www.bbcamerica.com/video/
Fancast (Full length TV Shows) - http://www.fancast.com/full_episodes
Fancast (Full length Movies) - http://www.fancast.com/movies
TV.com HD videos - http://www.tv.com/hd/
TV.com videos - http://www.tv.com/video/
identi.ca support like the twitter support is - identi.ca and source code can be found here http://laconi.ca/trac/
the fancast plugin shouldnt be that hard... they have an rss with all the shows already:
http://fb1.fancast.com/rss/video-index.xml
that links to the individual shows rss:
example: http://fb1.fancast.com/rss/41417.xml
the actual xml for each episode contains plenty of extra goodies like episode number, season, thumbnail, ect
also the show xml contains all shows vs hulus that I think is limited to about 20 episodes.Code:<item> <title>The Hills Ep 510: Something Old, Something New</title> <media:title>The Hills Ep 510: Something Old, Something New</media:title> <cim:tvSeriesId>41417</cim:tvSeriesId> <cim:season>5</cim:season> <cim:episodeNum>10</cim:episodeNum> <cim:episodeId>701909</cim:episodeId> <media:category scheme="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/category_schema">television/The Hills/The Hills Ep 510: Something Old, Something New</media:category> <link>http://www.fancast.com/tv/The-Hills/41417/1138331433/The-Hills-Ep-510%3A-Something-Old%2C-Something-New/videos</link> <description>Heidi and Spencer head down the aisle and two unexpected guests manage to attend the ceremony.</description> <pubDate>Tue, 14 Jul 2009 15:05:27 GMT</pubDate> <cim:videoId>1138331433</cim:videoId> <cim:runningTime>41:54</cim:runningTime> <cim:origAirDate>Sun, 31 May 2009 00:00:00 -0400</cim:origAirDate> <cim:expirationDate>Wed, 12 May 2010 02:00:00 -0400</cim:expirationDate> <cim:userRating>0.0</cim:userRating> <media:player url="http://www.fancast.com/tv/The-Hills/41417/1138331433/The-Hills-Ep-510%3A-Something-Old%2C-Something-New/videos"/> <media:description>Heidi and Spencer head down the aisle and two unexpected guests manage to attend the ceremony.</media:description> <media:thumbnail url="http://media4.comcast.net/thumbnails/cMTV/62/612/seg5-281x211_121x87.jpg" width="121" height="87"/> <media:rating scheme="urn:simple">nonadult</media:rating> </item>
only problem I see so far is some shows don't appear to be in the video-index.xml... might be worth just emailing them and saying your using google reader or something and your favorite show isn't in the xml![]()
Yay and thanks!
Personally I would love a National Geographic app but I don't suspect that's an easy one...so I'm on the look out for something to start. Looking at WIRED it doesn't seem too difficult, so i think i will make an app for that. If i start it I'll be sure to let you all know.
