    Default hulu solution suggestion

    I have a suggestion.

I love Boxee, and I love hulu. Right now, the hulu feed works only so-so on my mac version of boxee, but generally boxee works great. I also love the Hulu desktop program. It seems the hosting of hulu content in boxee is a real sticking point. So here is my suggestion:

Since boxee integration with hulu seems so problematic, why not just write a small application, in boxee, that would launch and then switch to the hulu desktop program? I'm assuming a good programmer could make this pretty seemless, and make it go right back to boxee when exiting hulu desktop. I personally think the hulu desktop interface is great, but i dont like getting off my couch to switch programs on my trackpad. Could this work? has it been tried? If i knew how, i would have done it already.

I think a generic launcher would probably be a better way to go. Could open the door for MAME

I agree with Fuzzgtp. A generic way of launching any other app would be best. Hulu desktop is a very good app in it's own right. If I could launch that from Boxee..... well, my life would make much more sense.

Boxee, your htpc OS. Sounds like a great idea.

I was able to talk to the programmers of GameEx and found someone who wrote a script to do exactly this. It works on GameEx. I open GameEx, select Hulu Desktop, it opens, when done, it returns to GameEx. I have tried to get this point across to the Boxee people but have be poo-pooed. Good luck trying to convince them.

What about those who run Boxee through ATV and Linux? I mean Linux is where Boxee started and only recently went to Windows... Don't mean to be a killer but think of everyone... Not to complain guys it's a great idea but I run Boxee on a free OS which makes Boxee a free solution... Get my drift?
